The “Roschelle Woyee Scholarship Program”

The “ Roschelle Woyee Scholarship Program” was established in 2017 and, it is in memory of my one and only little sister, Roschelle T. Woyee who was shot and killed due to Domestic Violence by her Ex-Boyfriend, the father of her then, 1-year-old daughter. My sister was murder at the tender age of 19-years-old in 2008 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

How The Scholarship Program Works

PURPOSE: The ” Roschelle Woyee Scholarship Program”, formally known as the “ Roschelle Woyee Scholarship Foundation, was established in 2017. Our mission is to achieve a brighter future for at-risk children, child survivors of Domestic Violence, or Sexual Abuse by promoting healthy families and communities’ one step at a time.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Is based on academic performance, leadership potential, and financial need.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS: The Roschelle Woyee Scholarship Program awards scholarships on the basis of a comprehensive process.

How Sponsorship Works

As a sponsor to the “Roschelle Woyee Scholarship Program”, you vow to contribute a monthly fee of your choice to support one of our program recipients that you have pledge to sponsor monthly. Moreover, your monthly contributions will aid in providing the basic necessities such as food, and other school resources.

1. Match with a Recipient

A few weeks after you have signed up to become a sponsor, you will be matched with recipient.

2. Receive Regular Updates

When you sign up to be a sponsor, we will send you a Welcome Packet containing information about your recipient, he/she age, and he/she hopes for the future. As your recipient proceeds through the program, you will receive regular updates by way of an e-mail about his/her progress and what he/she has been learning.

3. Exchange Letters

Imaginably so, the most pleasing aspect of our sponsorship is, the opportunity to exchange letters with the recipients. As a sponsor, our recipients will be able to write their sponsors letters or send them e-mails. This is highly encourage because, our recipients lives that we have been Blessed to have made an impact on, greatly appreciates such relation, and they also treasure those words of encouragements.

Today, December 4, 2025, marks 17 years since the untimely passing of my younger Sister, Roschelle Woyee, our beloved “RoRo.” On this heartbreaking day in 2008, Roschelle’s life was taken at our Parents’ residence in North Carolina at the hands of someone who claimed to love her.

This date remains deeply painful for our Family, Roschelle’s Friends, and everyone whose life she touched. The void her absence left behind is still felt every single day.

Through our grief, we have also carried her memory forward with purpose. In her honor, the Roschelle T. Woyee Scholarship Program was formed to keep her light shining through Education and opportunity. Roschelle’s story fuels our advocacy, our outreach, and our unwavering commitment to protect other lives from suffering the same fate of, Domestic Partner Abuse and Sexual Assault. Through this scholarship, Roschelle legacy continues to uplift and open doors for others, ensuring that her light still shines through hope and opportunity.

RoRo, your life mattered. Your voice STILL SPEAKS through our work. Your legacy lives on in every Student we support, every Survivor we stand beside, and every life we FIGHT to protect.
